2. Candle Use & Safety Disclaimer

By purchasing and using our candles, you agree to follow proper candle safety practices as outlined by the National Candle Association (NCA) and to use all products responsibly.

We are not liable for any damage or injury caused by improper use, misuse, or failure to follow safety instructions.

For your safety:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended

  • Keep candles away from children, pets, and flammable objects

  • Burn candles on a heat-resistant surface

  • Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time

  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use

  • Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains

By lighting a candle from Wicked Hickory, LLC, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for its safe use and agree to hold Wicked Hickory, LLC. harmless from any claims arising from improper use.

3. Natural Variation & Salvaged Wood Policy

Our candle coasters are made from natural, solid wood — a living material known for its unique grain patterns, organic imperfections, and one-of-a-kind character. By purchasing these items, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • No two coasters will be exactly alike in color, grain, or tone

  • Natural features such as knots, mineral streaks, or small checks (surface cracks) may be present and are part of the wood’s organic nature

  • We proudly choose to salvage and restore viable wood rather than discard it. In some cases, we use high-quality black epoxy to stabilize or repair imperfections, preserving the wood’s integrity while enhancing its visual interest

Each piece is thoughtfully crafted, hand-finished, and inspected for structural quality. These natural variations and artistic repairs are not considered defects, but rather a reflection of our sustainable values and commitment to honoring natural materials.

4. Candle Coaster Use & Liability Disclaimer

Our handcrafted wooden coasters are designed to enhance your candle experience and provide a visual and physical barrier between your candle vessel and the surface beneath it. While they help diffuse heat and promote surface protection, they are not fireproof and should never be relied upon as a safety device.

Please note: Wood is a naturally flammable material. While our coasters are intended for use under properly burned candles, they can ignite if exposed to direct flame, broken candle vessels, or excessive heat.

By purchasing and using our coasters, you agree and understand that:

  • Coasters may assist in reducing heat transfer to furniture or surfaces, but they will not prevent damage caused by candle misuse, vessel failure, or overheating

  • Coasters are not designed to contain wax spills, broken glass, or open flame

  • Proper candle safety practices — including never burning a candle unattended, avoiding drafts, trimming wicks, and following manufacturer guidelines — are essential for safe use

Wicked Hickory, LLC. is not responsible for any damage, injury, or fire resulting from the use or misuse of our products, including failure to follow proper burning and safety practices.
